No. Everything is handled online and through secure couriers, with no embassy or consulate appointment needed. Embassies and consulates are relevant for emergency travel documents, which are a different and much more restricted product.

ASAP brings the renewal together for you: expert application checks, help with the documents, courier collection and your new passport returned overseas. See how ASAP works.

Choose your service. VIP is for passports issued in 2002 or later, Gold for 1994 to 2001. Then complete the guided online application and upload your photo. DHL Express collects your passport from your address. We check everything before submission and manage the rest.

Yes. HM Passport Office needs your most recent passport to verify your identity and passport history, whether it is expired or still valid. The exception is a lost or stolen passport, which requires our replacement service instead.

Not during the process. It is submitted and cancelled as part of the renewal. It comes back to you alongside your new one, which matters if you hold a visa or residency evidence in the old book.

Yes. Child applications need parental consent and additional evidence, and photo rules differ for under-16s. Child renewals are £799, 3 weeks or less, guaranteed. See child UK passports.

Ideally at least six months before expiry, particularly if you travel often or your residency in Spain depends on a valid passport. If you have left it late, that is what this service is for.

Eligible VIP adult renewals are 2 weeks or less, guaranteed. Eligible Gold renewals are 3 weeks or less, guaranteed. The time runs from DHL collection of your complete, correct document pack to the first attempted delivery of your new passport.

By DHL Express priority international courier as soon as it is issued, with your old passport included and full tracking throughout.

Spanish photo shops and estancos offer passport photos. The Spanish format is not the same as the UK one, so ask for UK specifications or send us a phone photo.

It depends on when it was issued rather than how long ago it expired. issued in 2002 or later: VIP applies, 2 weeks or less, guaranteed. Issued between 1994 and 2001: Gold applies, 3 weeks or less, guaranteed. Issued before 1994, or the history cannot be linked clearly: treated as a first-time application at £1,499, around 4 weeks, best endeavours.

That requires our replacement service rather than a renewal: £799, 3 weeks or less, guaranteed, where your last UK passport was issued from 2002 onwards. You will need to report the passport lost or stolen so it can be cancelled, which we guide you through.

As a British citizen you are entitled to renew your UK passport regardless of also holding Spanish citizenship. We confirm whether any Spanish documents are needed and check that your name matches across both. Since 25 February 2026, British and Irish citizens cannot get a UK ETA, so you are expected to prove your citizenship with a valid British passport.

From DHL Express collection of your complete, correct document pack to the first attempted delivery of your new passport. The courier journey is included: eligible VIP adult renewals are 2 weeks or less, and eligible Gold renewals are 3 weeks or less.
