A standard overseas application is slow for two reasons. You are not in the UK to move it along, and most delays start in the application pack itself: wrong photo, missing evidence, mismatched names, the wrong service chosen at the outset.

VIP adult renewals: 2 weeks or less, guaranteed, from the moment DHL Express collects your document pack. Gold: 3 weeks or less, guaranteed. We confirm your eligibility before you pay. Apply directly from overseas instead, and you can wait considerably longer with nobody in the UK moving it along.
What happens if my last passport was issued before 2002?
You do not qualify for VIP. If it was issued between 1994 and 2001, Gold applies at £799, 3 weeks or less, guaranteed. If it was issued before 1994, or your passport history is unclear, it is treated as a first-time application at £1,499, around 4 weeks on a best-endeavours basis.
Do I still need to send my old passport if it expired years ago?
Yes. HM Passport Office uses your previous passport to help verify your identity and passport history, even if it expired years ago. We return it to you along with your new one.
When does the 2-week guarantee start?
When DHL Express collects your complete document pack and/or passport from you. It does not start at payment if your documents have not yet been provided.
What if I am a dual citizen and have been travelling on my other passport?
If you are a British citizen or dual national travelling to the UK, you may not be able to rely on a foreign passport alone. Start the renewal before you travel rather than discovering the problem at check-in. We will also confirm whether any of your foreign documents are needed for the application.
My name has changed since my last passport. Can I still use this service?
A name or details change is its own service rather than a renewal, because passports cannot be amended — a new one has to be issued. It is £799, 3 weeks or less, guaranteed. See name or details change.
What if my passport was lost, stolen or damaged rather than expired?
That is our replacement service: £799, 3 weeks or less, guaranteed, where your last UK passport was issued from 2002 onwards. See replace a lost, stolen or damaged passport.
Are you GOV.UK or HM Passport Office?
No. ASAP Passports is an independent UK company and a registered UK passport agent. Your passport is still issued by HM Passport Office. We check your documents before submission, work directly with HM Passport Office to facilitate your application, and coordinate secure return delivery.
